How do I search Dictionary Terms?
There are Four main ways to search Dictionary Terms: Word or Phrase, UCF Term ID, Acronyms, or Definitions.
Navigate to the Dictionary search Section in Research by clicking on the Dictionary icon in the side bar.
Search by Word or Phrase
- Enter a word or phrase into the search field.
- Select Word or Phrase from the dropdown list option.
- Hit Enter or click SEARCH.
Search UCF Term ID
- Enter a UCF Term ID into the search field.
- Select UCF Term ID from the dropdown list option.
- Hit Enter or click SEARCH.
Search Acronym
- Enter an acronym into the search field.
- Select Acronym from the dropdown list option.
- Hit Enter or click SEARCH.
Search Definition
- Enter an word or phrase into the search field.
- Select Definition from the dropdown list option.
- Hit Enter or click SEARCH.
Advanced Search
Advanced Searches can be used during Word or Phrase searches and is automatically used in Defintion searches to refine the Dictionary Term search results.
Click on the Question Mark Icon
to the right of the Advanced Search checkbox to see the list of Advanced Operators available for use.
