Duplicate Term Check

This is where the software checks to see if the term you entered already exists in the Compliance Dictionary.

When the database finds an exact or partial match a window will pop-up with the following options:

Exact Match Found

Continue with Match Cancel
Select this option when the term you submitted is the same as the matched term but has DIFFERENT capitalization. This option allows you to go back to the first page and modify the submitted term, if desired. You cannot continue with the workflow until you change the term or select one of the other two options.

If the term you added has different hyphenation or non-US spelling of the same term, it is a non-standard form of the existing term. If the term you added is not a different spelling, different hyphenation, or an other form of an existing term. This option allows you to go back to the first page and modify the submitted term, if desired. You cannot continue with the workflow until you change the term or select one of the other two options.

If the term you added was added as an “other form” of a verb or noun (i.e., as a different tense of the verb or a pluralization of the noun) then you will have the choice of stating that it is an “other form” of the existing term.
